KhmerTalks organizers are a not-for-profit, all volunteer group with members who live and study around the world, working collaboratively on the Internet, and meeting locally. Below are some of the organizers that are helping KhmerTalks event in 2011.
SOK Kimheng is currently working as lecturer of Computer Science and Head of library at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia. Hi favorite activities is helping social work and all works that related to the development of Cambodia. He has participated with many associations, NGOs, Communities, Youth Groups’s activities that are shared common vision with him. Kimheng hope that KhmerTalks event will be a gateway to delight new perspective and creative ideas for the next talented Cambodians generation for the benefit of their future and Cambodia as a whole. TOY Monireth has finished BA of Accounting at VANDA Institute. Currently working for one Non-Governmental Organization (NGOs). She really love social works and network others to learn and help develop Cambodia. The most excitement time for her is when she can work with young to build resources and future with youth and for Cambodia’s generation. She believe that the KhmerTalks Event, aplace for sharing ideas, will bring the most advantage for young people and the next generation to come. She is really looking forward to June 4th, 2011.
SOTH Bopha from Siem Reap and is second-year-student at USEA of English major. Currently, she is working for The PEPY Ride as a translation and program assistant, as well as a volunteer student at JWOC Seim Reap. Bopha wants to find her special dream. A dream that fulfill her heart and help people. So she hopes KhmerTalks will be a guideline to help her to find the most favor dream for her life, by KhmerTalks speakers. The theme, “Sharing Success Together”, is very meaningful for Bopha. She hopes that this feeling is similar to most of her friends and other participants who participate at KhmerTalks. “Sharing + Go together/Teamwork => Succeed”.
Lach Vannak is a former student of Media and Communication, Royal University of Phnom Penh. He is also a member of Kon Khmer Koun Khmer, a collective film group run by young Cambodian artists and artist-by-heart. He is now working for The PEPY Ride. Vannak’s favorite is social work. He hopes his contributions to KhmerTalk will more or less help Cambodians young generation.
SOK Channaro is a senoir student from University of Puthisastra majoring in law and sophomore at Paññasastra University of Cambodia majoring in International Relations. He is working with AIESEC(Association Internationale des Etudiants en Science Economique et Commerciale) as a Vice-President of Talent Management at UP/NUM that focus on exchange and leadership. In addition, Channaro is also a club secretary at University of Puthisastra Student Television that produce a video clip, short drama and documentary. He is volunteering for KhmerTalks as a translator and media. He hopes to learn new skill from KhmerTalks presenter new ideas and also at the same time help to spread this great ideas to Cambodians. TEDxPhnomPenh Talks is very beneficial especially they focus in three things are Technology, Entertainment and Design. KhmerTalks is working along side with TEDxPhnomPenh, the two will brings those knowledges to those who seeks and will inspire many life.
Rithy, called Ben, is a tech thinker of Kampuchekroth (Cambodia). He believes that being a richest man in a cemetery doesn’t matter to him, as long as he can go to bed at night saying we have done something wonderful. He contribution to KhmerTalks is one of the tools to help him realize that dream and happiness.
San Boromeichan is a student of International Relations at University of Cambodia(UC). He majors in Finance and Banking at University of Puthisastra (UP). Currently, he works as a translator in KYE community. He desire to be devote and participate in making positive changes in our society.
Nara Sokhema is a 3rd year student at IFL and University of Cambodia, majoring in International Studies and Economics. Since 11th grade, she has volunteered and currently leading small group of youths (in SYCA-Singapore Sunburst Youth Camp Alumni, ICA-Initiatives of Change Association, SEALNet-South East Asian Leadership Network, HOH-Help Our Homeland, SUSI-Study of United States Institutions for Student Leaders Alumni…etc) to work on enriching the youths’ leadership abilities, reviving the traditional arts, raising environmental awareness…etc . She is a simple, cheerful and open-minded little girl, loving to discover, learn, and spread out new things from anyone, anywhere, anyhow (especially through volunteering, traveling, reading books, watching documentaries, and sharing sessions).
Ratana Chea graduated at Phnom Penh University and presently he is working at MOH. He adores with social work and he hopes his contribution to KhmerTalk which will help Cambodians young generation.
TRY Seakngoy graduated BA of Public Administration at Royal University of Law and Economic. Currently, he is working for PEPY Organization in Siem Reap. He likes social business and he wants to help Khmer Young Generation. He believes that Khmer Talks Event can bring many generation in Cambodia work with together, sharing together and they can create new great idea and new social business in Cambodia.
Mao Channoleak is a former student of Royal University of Law and Economic in Finance and Banking. Also, He is the third year students at Norton University. Currently, He is working at Beeline in Finance. Since he was young, he is interesting in social work, yet he doesn’t know how to involve himself with it. he is appreciated to become a part of KYE which he can improve his social skill. By the way, he believes that Khmer Talk is the first event that guides and changes Khmer young generation to love the social work as well as improve themselves.
Hout Siekhuoy is a freshman at IFL, majoring in International Studies Program. When he was young, he always dreamed of having chances to serve the community and society as a whole. He does love meeting and learning from people while i is volunteering. This is a great opportunity to be a tiny part of the KYE. He is sure that Khmer Talks is going to be the most inspiring event ever. Khmer Talks will lead youth to see the brighter side of the world.
Dalin is a junior, majoring International Study at IFL and Economic-Business at University of Puthisastra. She likes volunteer and social work because she wants to contribute something to Cambodian society. She currently a volunteer in KhmerTalks as translation team. She hopes that my present in KhmerTalks will be awesome since She cannot only learn from KhmerTalks but also share ideas to everyone. Besides, She a SUSI Alumnus 2010 of U.S State Alumni in Cambodia and a volunteer at Document Center of Cambodia (DC Cam). She is cheerful, open-minded, easygoing person and she loves making new friends. It is great pleasure to meet and be a part of team.
Hearn Chhunny graduated B.A from International Buddhist University Chiang Mai Thailand. His major is in Buddhist Philosophy and English Literature. Currently, he is working for South East Asian Institute of Global Studies and he serves as Resident Director in Cambodia. Coordinating foreign exchange students who come to Cambodia through Payap University of Thailand and the University of Cambodia. Serving our fellow beings is something he is always happy to share and impressed for those who contribute, especially he honor for those who scarified their time in the purpose helping others to live in better society. He does hope our KYE will be a community where many people find very useful and in which it inspires many young generations to come about the Idea of sharing and Creative thought on making business!! Creating more opportunity for our young generations. ” Keep our hope alive and follow our dream” Hoping KYE will be a great online community and the meeting point where people could come discuss and learn new things Etc.
Rithy Thul was born in 1986 in Kandal province, Saang district, Cambodia. After completing high school at the age of 18, he moved to Phnom Penh to work toward a University degree. Upon completing the English Literature Associates program at Cambodian University for Specialties (CUS), Rithy decided to cultivate interests in social networks and personal achievement. Employed with the PEPY organization, he worked as a group facilitator improving rural education and promoting sustainable development. He has led group cycling tours across Cambodia designed to educate young environmentally minded world travelers on key development issues affecting Cambodia. While with PEPY, Rithy completed two annual summer cultural exchange internships in the United States, counseling younger teens through hiking and cycling experiences at a Vermont youth camp.Rithy was instrumental in bringing TEDx events to Cambodia, a series of hard-hitting independently organized short lecture and performance events based on TED conference concept. He is also the co-founder and main organizer for Khmer Young Entrepreneurs (KYE) and Khmer Talks events, a group of over 500 active Cambodian youth whose aim is to promote idea sharing events, social enterprise, and to host business and educational lectures in the Khmer language for aspiring young entrepreneurs.
